XC Summer Running
Summer running begins Monday, June 15th
Practice will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Mondays and Wednesdays practice will be located at Layton Commons Park, and on Friday practice will be held at Fernwood trail.
Practice will start at 7:30 AM and will go until 9:00 AM

First Meet Of The Season!
Hey Lancers! We have our first meet of the season coming up on the 13th to the 14th at Weber Highschool! The meet is the 2nd Annual Sue Woodbury Warrior Relays.The Field events will begin at 3:00 on the 13th, and the Meet will finish the rest of the events starting at 9 AM on Saturday! *Note* This is a State Qualifying Meet! Outdoor Track Information
Athletes must be complete all the paperwork on http://registermyathlete.com/
All athletes must have a physical on file from this school year. If you had a physical for a Fall or Spring sport, you are covered. The physical form can be found and printed from registermyathlete.com.
You must have completed your registration before you begin practice. The school fee is $105. This includes a tech t-shirt for all athletes. There will be an optional order form for warm ups and spandex.

Potato Sales money and completed order form will be due on Wed Nov. 12 by 3 pm. Please take your checks to the office and have the secretaries deposit the money in the Track Potato fundraiser account. Then take your receipt and your order form to Mr. Bell’s room. The potatoes will be tentatively delivered on Monday Nov 17th after school in the parking lot. You will be responsible to deliver them to your customers. Remember anything after 8 bags will be applied towards your 2015 outdoor track activity fee. Thanks for helping us make this program and this fundraiser a success.

Pre-Region One Meet
The Pre-Region One Cross Country meet will be held Tuesday, September 2nd at Layton City Park. The course is 2.0 miles, with about 90% run on grass, 10% on asphalt and cement. We should be able to use the shortened version of the regular Region course.

Welcome to Lancer Track 2014!
We've had an amazing first week of practice. We are thrilled with the turnout and the work ethic shown by our athletes at practice this week.
We have our first meet, the Warrior Relays this coming weekend March 14-March 15
Here are the details:
Friday night at Fremont High School (1975 North 4700 West Plain City, UT 84404) for all field events. Javelin will begin at 3:00 with the remainder of the field events starting at 3:15.
Saturday at Weber High School (430 Weber High Dr, Pleasant View, UT 84414) for all track events.

Afternoon Practice Begins
As of Monday, August 19th, all Cross Country practice will now begin at 2:45 PM. This is to help athletes adjust to afternoon temperatures prior to our first meet on August 31st. Please bring plenty of water and hydrate throughout the day. See you at the Goofy Statue on the 19th!
High Altitude Camp
We'd like to thank all of those who participated in Layton High's First-Ever Cross Country High Altitude Camp this summer. It was a huge success and we hope to return next year! The runs were great, the hikes were great, the food and hosts were great, and there were even some great caber tosses! Thanks again to Mr. Delose Conner and his Camp Loll staff!
Cross Country Conditioning
In order to be competitive for this fall's cross country season, athletes need to condition well this summer. Summer conditioning will take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7:30 AM, but athletes are strongly encouraged to work out individually as well. On Mondays, meet at the Goofy Statue in the park across the street from Layton High. On Wednesdays, meet at the Layton High Track. On Fridays, meet at the Fernwood Trailhead. STATE TRACK MEET PLACERS!!!
A massive congratulations to all those who competed at the State Track and Field Meet on May 17th and 18th! The meet was held at BYU. The Layton High Boys' Team tied with American Fork High School at 38 points for 8th place. The Lady Lancers took 15th with 10 points. Individual scorers include:

- Marcus Kemp - 1st place in the High Jump (10 pts) and 2nd place in the Long Jump (8 pts)
